Seasoned Hardwood Logs

Big K supplies a number of wood burning restaurants in the UK . We utilise mixed hardwoods, which are seasoned before cutting and splitting.

Source of wood:  All wood is sourced from UK forests.

Primary spices of wood: Ash, Beech, Oak and Elm.

Environment:          
All forests supplying wood to Big K work under the principles and criteria of the British Forestry Commission. Big K’s policy is to purchase wood from responsibly sustained sources, i.e. managed forests, as off-cuts.

Kiln-Dried Hardwood Logs

Same wood specification as Seasoned Hardwood Logs.

In order to further decrease the moisture content, the wood will be kiln-dried prior to delivery. This guarantees the moisture level taken from any exterior point to be 20% or below. The moisture reading taken from the same sample but split down the middle will range in moisture. We cannot provide a guarantee to the internal moisture levels, as each piece of wood will react differently due to its size and the species.
